Brilliant job at clearing away an old hedge, brambles, trees, pallets and an old timber fence; all at a very reasonable price for the great service received from James and his team. Recommended.

Arranged a last minute clearance (2 days time). The clearance was done very well, pricing was clearly explained up front and they were very friendly. Would highly recommend.

The property is now set to be expanded by 50%, with plans to add two more upper floors to the existing five. Refurbishment projects like these often benefit from services offering office clearance in Leicester to clear anything that’s been left behind by previous building occupants and leave developers with a blank canvas to work with. Office or house clearance in Leicester can take anything between a week and a month, depending on the volume of unwanted equipment and other items that need to be removed.

An office block in Leicester City is in the process of being developed into flats in order to house 267 students. The building formerly known as Reynard House in Welford Road once played host to a number of businesses but fell into disuse several years ago. The property is now set to be expanded by 50%, with plans to add two more upper floors to the existing five. The transformed accommodation will contain a mix of en-suite rooms and studio flats. There will be 24/7 on-site management for residents, who will also benefit from facilities including a gym, a yoga studio, a study space, a cinema room, and a spa.

According to the developer, Study Inn Group Ltd, work to transform the block is currently underway, and the property should be ready for use by September 2022. Acquisitions Director Jack Jefferson stated the firm was pleased to add another valuable asset to the company’s portfolio for the benefit of the city.

And that’s not the only building in Leicester that’s being converted into student accommodation. An ex-Wetherspoons pub will be developed to create 56 flats and will feature communal spaces as well as a new restaurant or bar on the ground floor. Students will also have access to a chill room, a gym, and a study space, along with a cinema and a games room.

The building used to operate as the Last Plantagenet pub but has been boarded up since last orders were called in September 2019. Leicester City Council has conditionally approved Friends Tavern Leicester LTD’s proposal to push on with the project, on the condition that only full-time university students or those studying to work in healthcare or teaching as part of their course will be able to rent the finished accommodation.

Again, transforming an old property for a new use often requires services for office clearance in Leicester. Hiring a professional team of clearance experts can help speed plans along as they take away what’s no longer needed, leaving the building ready for development and building work.

Top Student And Entrepreneur Centres

Leicester As One Of The Top Student And Entrepreneur Centres

Leicester ranked ninth overall in the list of cities that offer the best value for money for students in a recent study by NatWest. The bank published its findings in the Student Living Index 2021. It cited affordability and the mental health support available at universities as their main criteria when evaluating cities for their list.

In terms of the mental health support that Leicester universities offer, the city ranks fifth nationwide. Affordability is calculated by adding a student’s monthly spending on activities, essential items, and accommodation, and dividing it by their average monthly income.

Leicester has been singled out as one of the cheapest places for a night out on the town, with students spending on average £23.40 on drinks and entry to a nightclub. By comparison, in London, the average price of a pint is £9.10 – you can get two for the same amount and still have change in Leicester, where the average pint costs a little over £4.

Students in Leicester also benefit from cheaper utility bills, spending on average just £15.30 a month, the second lowest price for this across all the UK’s university cities. In fact, the research showed that Leicester students were able to save up to £93 per month on average.

Despite its findings, NatWest warns that average spending is likely to increase for everyone with the relaxation of lockdown restrictions. This means it’s important for students to properly manage their finances.

Most students get their income from loans or part-time jobs and spend their money largely on groceries. The average bill for students’ supermarket shopping makes up for a fifth of total monthly expenses.

Students spent less on going out over last year’s lockdowns, unsurprisingly. Instead, they have been watching more TV, streaming movies or playing video games, which accounted for around 50 hours of the average student’s month. With the relaxation on restrictions, they’re increasingly feeling like treating themselves when they do go out but are now finding that a night out is not as cheap as it used to be.

But Leicester is not just a great place to be a student – it’s also one of the cities in the UK that’s been hailed as a terrific place to start a business. A recent study analysing the locations where entrepreneurs were most likely to start a new business despite the pandemic saw Leicester as one of the places landing a spot in the top five. Since the start of the first lockdown, 5,345 new businesses have been registered. This is a 72% increase from 2019 figures, making the city fourth on the entrepreneur hotspot list.

This isn’t the first time Leicester has been highlighted as an entrepreneur-friendly city. Forbes’ 2020 business bible reported that Leicester had seen a huge increase in new companies and is one of the places in the country experiencing a boom in new businesses. The city was also cited as one of the top places with a high entrepreneurial index.

Leicester has plenty to offer to start-ups. Even throughout the pandemic and its repercussions, the city’s entrepreneurial spirit is still very much alive. People are still seeing and seizing opportunities and the chance to start their own businesses.

The city’s start-up community is very supportive and has played a valuable part in encouraging entrepreneurs to start up here. The De Montfort University (DMU) hosts the ongoing Crucible Project, which offers a way for entrepreneurs to turn their business ideas into a reality. The project also helps existing businesses develop.

Many entrepreneurs say that the Crucible has been extremely helpful, providing them with sound advice and support. The top business types started in the city include mail order, construction, retail, creative, and freight transport industries. A notable increase has also been observed in digital and IT businesses, as well as food delivery.
